CBB Adds New Law Enforcement Advisor
Ret. U.S. Marshal Bobby Mathieson Joins Law Enforcement Advisory Council
McLean, VA (July 27, 2023) – Citizens Behind the Badge (CBB), a nonprofit law enforcement advocacy organization, announced today that Robert “Bobby” Mathieson, a retired U.S. Marshal with more than 40 years of law enforcement and public service, has joined their Law Enforcement Advisory Council.
CBB’s Law Enforcement Advisory Council helps guide their policy positions, programs and activities. Mathieson joins 15 other members of the Council, which is comprised of federal, state and local law enforcement leaders from across the country. The Council is chaired by Bill Erfurth, a retired 26-year veteran of the Miami-Dade (FL) Police Department.
Mathieson served for 27 years as a police officer with the Virginia Beach (VA) Police Department beginning in 1975. He retired in 2002 and served for the next five years as the Deputy Director of the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services. He was elected to the Virginia House of Delegates where he served from 2008 to 2010. In 2011, he became the U.S. Marshal for the Eastern District of Virginia, where he served for nearly eight years before retiring in 2019, completing more than four decades in law enforcement and public service.
